Mesilla Valley Transportation is currently hiring for Truck Mechanic I ***</strong><br> <br><strong>Job Summary</strong><br> <br>The <strong>Truck Mechanic I </strong>tunes automotive vehicle engines after Service Writer inspection to ensure efficient operation and compliance by performing the following duties. Key measures of success include:<br> <br>- Be recognized by team, peers, and management as a key supporter<br> <br>- Identifies and resolves problems/tasks in a timely manner<br> <br>- Follows instructions, responds to management directions<br> <br><strong>Responsibilities:</strong><br> <br>Inspects, adjusts, and repairs trucks with minor to major problems<br> <br>- Ensures equipment is functioning properly and within Department of Transportation compliance<br> <br>- Troubleshoots electrical/mechanical malfunctions on water pumps, switches, lighting circuits, control valves, relief valves, and other items<br> <br>- Performs light maintenance such as repairing or replacing marker lights or windshield wipers<br> <br>- Repairs/replaces tires, wheel bearings and seals<br> <br>- Changes fluids and filters as necessary<br> <br>- Adjusts brakes for proper function<br> <br>- Inspects and cleans parts; submits orders if part must be replaced<br> <br>- Confirms proper function of equipment and truck after maintenance<br> <br>- Assists Shop Manager with other functions as needed<br> <br>- Participate in the rotating on-call schedule and be available every 3rd week of the month, Monday thru Sunday 24/7<br> <br><strong>Qualifications</strong><br> <br>- Valid drivers license<br> <br>- Two years or more years' experience in Automotive, Heavy Truck or Heavy Equipment Mechanic<br> <br><strong>Job Benefits</strong><ul> <li>401(k)</li> <li>Dental Insurance</li> <li>Health Insurance</li> <li>Life Insurance</li> <li>Paid Time Off</li> <li>Tuition Reimbursement</li> <li>Vision insurance</li> </ul><strong>Benefit Conditions:</strong><ul> <li>Only full-time employees are eligible.</li> </ul>Mesilla Valley Transportation began in 1982 as a small independent fleet in the Southwest.
